RANDALLSTOWN, MD — Multiple apartment buildings were evacuated in Randallstown due to an explosion Wednesday morning, according to Baltimore County public safety officials. Nobody was injured, and one tenant was displaced, authorities reported.
Firefighters were called to the 3400 block of Carriage Hill Circle, where officials said after 11 a.m. that a second-floor garden apartment had experienced an explosion.
By noon, authorities said a county building engineer was at the scene, and the structure had been declared free of gas.
While investigators have not determined an official cause, WBAL reported they were considering natural gas as a factor in the explosion, which blew out windows and debris from the Carriage Hill Apartments. The person who was displaced was reportedly not home at the time of the incident.
